Ultreya!
It’s snowing in southeast New York. We’re expected to get between three to eight inches, or one to three, depending on which gambler–er, meteorologist–you listen to. My neigborhood, which yesterday was the drab fading freen and brown of Autumn, now glistens in growing white. With sixteen days to go until Christmas, this first snowfall of the season reminds me of the “White Christmas” versus “Green Christmas” debate–if that’s even a thing. Thus, today’s choice of unconventional kigo, first snow OR ever green.
Write a haikai poem of your choice in which you reference either falling snow or ever green. Feel free to use both, if you truly want to challenge yourself!
As always:
Here’s how the challenge works:
2. Ping-back to the Challenge by placing a link to it in your post.
3. Comment with a link to your post.
Happy Haijining!

I found your challenge through Petru’s blog post. WP is a bit free and easy about what notifications it sends my way. Here are a couple of haiku for you—great word combinations.

Thanks, Jane! They’re great! Btw, I usually post a haikai challenge on Saturdays—occasionally on Sundays before I go silent.
