Staying Dry, haijin? I hope so! Honestly, I had no idea how prescient my kigo of last week would be! No matter the precipitation, however, you came through!

Congratulations, contributors:

Let’s look ahead, now.

Spring passes. Next week begins the unofficial commencement of summer in the United States: memorial day. There have already been days of searing heat, and inevitably more will follow. It’s fitting, then, to acknowledge the transition of spring to summer with this week’s kigo: passing spring (yuka haru).

Write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states or alludes to passing spring (yuka haru).

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

Embrace this passing season, haijin!

I will still be a tad behind for taking some vacation daze! We actually went north to escape some of the late spring rains.
Please enjoy (at least the first go round…maybe more…we’ll see) : yuka haru
