The Use of Freedom

A Bald Eagle circles high above the fjord. Sunlight shines intermitently between gathering clouds. Far below, an osprey snatches an unwary fish from the rushing waters of the fjord. It brings its quarry to the shore. The eagle dives toward it in breath-catching speed. A short struggle ends with the osprey in flight–without the fish.

How easy it is to exploit freedom as liscense, a means of appeasing appetite. How difficult to utilize freedom in the way for which it is best suited: as a channel for principled service.

Amazing how some think freedom is the freedom to impose your values on someone else.

The freedom we love is built on the back of others… love what we learn from the thieving eagle. The haiku is wonderful
