   It isn’t always sad to be alone. Some people choose it because they enjoy people-watching, and thinking, more than they enjoy interacting.

   I hear you. In case you missed it, this haiku is Rachel Sutcliffe’s, not mine; she’s the real deal. For me, the haiku’s mono no aware (poignant sadness) comes from juxtaposing a wedding with a lone guest.
