Looking ahead.

The last days of April are upon us. Those of us writing for National Poetry Month have only two more days to go! As April moves into May, the full awakening of Spring (in the Northern hemisphere) arrives. Blossoms of every kind abound. Budding leaves fill up the trees again. And since May is a traditional summer month by the lunar reckoning, what better kigo for these last three days of April could there be but blossom haze (hanagumori)?

This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states or references blossom haze (hanagumori).

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

Enjoy the haze of blossoms, haijin!
