Looking ahead:

The days continue to heat up here in New York. We’ve had days close to 80 degrees F, and more like them are coming. Even as the Western calendar still clings to Spring, I see why the traditional lunar calendars call this time of the year (North of the Equator, anyways) summer.

This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to summer-like (natsumeku) conditions (weather, activities, etc.)

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

A special thanks to those that participated in my inaugural post over at dVerse! There’s still one day left if any of you wish to participate. In the meantime, stay cool, haijin!

Temperatures hitting the 90°s here and heading for higher tomorrow. It’s just about warming the inside of the house up a little 🙂

I went into the Mr. Linky that had a totally new format. It had a blog that I clicked on and a very small mr. linky box was there. I first pasted my post and it turned up the last one for d’verse. then I blanked it out and copied and pasted my new poem Snakes on a Log and it said error. Not sure what is going on. Perhaps I am on the wrong place. I did not see the usual mr linky box on your site. only a words that said powered by mister linky.

Are you using the WP reader to view the post? If so, go directly to the post page on my blog. Scroll down past the recap to the Mister Linky near the bottom. Hopefully, that will do the trick.
