“Who Am I?” -a #haibun

I am Chuang Chou dreaming he is a butterfly. I am the butterfly dreaming he is Chuang Chou. I am the dream of Chuang Chou and butterfly being each other. I am the complement between them.

I am the Way you can’t go, the Name you can’t say. I am the unnamed origin of Heaven and Earth. I am Heaven and Earth. I am the Mystery of mystery, the gateway to the unseen

I am the calm and the storm. I am the origin and the end. I am the small, still voice.

I am. And that is enough.

Wow, this is so mysterious and enlightening. I love how it revolves around different aspects of the Earth such as nature. Really enjoyed reading this!

I have a friend who first taught me of the dream of being a butterfly, and the butterfly dreaming of being the dreamer, and the fluidity and connection, we are all life altogether all together. I spent so much of my life suppressing the world and the waves and the truth inside me, I think I am learning to breathe, and joy and peace is following being able to just be. Thank you Frank, this is so wonderful.

Nice paraphrasing from the Chuang Tzu and the Tao Te Ching. “I am the Mysterious Mother, from which all things spring and to which all things return.” The inherent paradox of the philosophy that is simultaneously as close to the truth as one will ever get still delights me.
