Cooked enough, haijin? Congratulations to last week’s contributors:
Haikai Challenge ParticipantsPowered by… Mister Linky’s Magical Widgets.
Looking ahead:
A mellowing period of cool arrived in my corner of “New York’s Backyard.” While attending my son’s Boy Scout troop’s annual Homeless Campout, I donned a fleece to ward off the chill. Today, Mira lit a fire in our fire pit, as prevailing winds sent a shiver down our spines.
After the recent heat, it’s a welcome change. And a reminder that Autumn formally arrives in nine days.
It’s therefore a ripe opportunity for this week’s kigo: new coolness (shinryoo).
This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to new coolness (shinryoo).
As always:
Here’s how the challenge works:
1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.
Enjoy the refreshing coolness as Autumn comes, haijin!

Hello
Here’s my submission. Autumn mornings in my city in India begins with dew on grass, fallen night jasmine flowers on ground ( which is locally known as Shiuli) and a feel good chill; all of which have tried to incorporate in my Haiku. 🙂
