Ultreya!

It may be late Autumn by traditional reckoning, but it is the prime of fall here in New York’s back yard. The fall foliage is supposed to reach its peak in my little corner of upstate New York. Already the leaves in the neighborhood begin to turn.

Meanwhile, migrations are well underway. Soon, the V-formations of departing geese will cross the sky!

Therefore, let’s do a double-kigo for this week’s double-challenge!

This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states or alludes to either Fall foliage or goose (kari)–or both, if you feel so inclined!

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

I also neglected the third anniversary of the #Haikai Challenge, which happened at #156. Can you believe it has already been 3 years?

Enjoy this peak of Autumn (or Spring, for those of you south of the Equator)!

I see my pingback, but I must have forgotten to enter it into the list. I didn’t see it there. My mind has been elsewhere. Let’s see if I can do it right this time.
