For Halloween:

Opal days wane, carved
faces shine thrice in moon’s light
smiles sharing soul cake.

For Samhain:

Stubbled fields’ sun sets
Cattle fall by bonfire’s glow
Toasts raised to fiddles
Fairies flit in warm shadows
Nibbling apple nut bread.

Frank J. Tassone is the host of Haiki Challenge.  Frank says:
This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to either Halloween, Samhain or both!
