drill?
(renga series)

east and west windows
will never meet yet they are
unlikely partners

allowing the watcher views
of the great freeze and slow melt

of snow art or ice
plowed into piles in the street –
the watcher thinks ‘spring’

especially when woken
by bird song and brilliant sun

March may drill cold winds
‘lions roars’ long and loud… yet
soon the breeze will mew
