stalk

spring stalking winter
soon to overtake the gloom
of grey – to rainbow
*
stalk of daffodil
patiently waits for the spring
equinox to bloom
*
thin little green stalks
wild onions wedge between
spring hyacinth bulbs
*
stalk…they do the birds
each other yet glad to share
the winter feeder
*
frosted dew like gems;
dawns’ rays stalk each one to melt
them quick before spring
