tread

the transformation
is slow to tread from winter
into sprawling spring

holiday tables set with
eggs to symbolize rebirth

some celebrate with
bunnies and others, matzo
joyous tables; both

respect interlaced within
the white linen tablecloths

what more could one want …
family, friends, food, shared love;
these are true blessings

that will be treasured while we
are hugged in nature’s embrace

may care filled words tread
with soothing comfort in all
our celebrations
