#Haiku Happenings #3: Jules’ latest #haibun for my current #haikai challenge!
Tellus
(a haibun)
At two in the morning the thin bowl of moon rests on top of the
neighbor’s roof in the west. I wonder what dreams are weighing
that silver sliver of a saucer and if it will land softly into the waiting
spring ground, like a child recovering from a nightmare rests upon
their mother’s chest.
turning earth, life orb
pining waning moon, so far…
both circle the sun
At seven in the morning the brilliant ball of the sun rests on top of the
neighbor’s roof in the east. With the return of spring by nine it is warm
enough to retrieve the paper that was tossed on the driveway, with only
a light jacket. In all seasons we need to protect ourselves from those
strong rays.
turning earth, life orb
pining humans – are they apt
stewards of Mother?
