#Haiku Happenings #9: Jane Dougherty’s latest #haibun for #dversepoets!
A haibun for dverse. I’m on a very steep learning curve here, especially in the plant department. There are so many things right in front of my eyes I never knew existed.

Meadow—not grass to tread unthinking, a tangle, tressed and trussed tight as any net, burrowed and woven with cricket and vole and the haunt of the hare. Spangled and specked with purple and pink and swaying yellow heads, the sky’s palette is no more glorious. Tread with care, the gem-strewn carpet, for orchids peep, peer with their strange bright eyes, and eager open mouths.
Flowers sway
to bird music
skip sun ropes
