almost autumn wind
brings more rain, announcing time;
another new year

reflecting on what has been
to move gracefully forward

seeking tenets and
tents; singly or folded in
a congregation

breath of sacred wind blown through
the holy shofar – ram’s horn

new bright beginnings
to bring a variety
of respected tears

to become memories of
joy mingled with sadness too

another new year
announcing the shifting time
as autumn winds blow
