Apple Picking

#Haiku Happenings #5: revivedwriter’s latest #haibun for my current #haikai challenge!

revivedwriter's avatarrevivedwriter

During autumn, I think of apples. Several Octobers ago, my brother and our friend visited an apple orchard; we loved the magnificent trees and we’re amazed at the different varieties. We picked dozens of apples and even made cider in an old-fashioned, hand-operated machine. It was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the memories are sweet. Yes, in autumn, this time of bountiful, plentiful harvest, I cannot help but think of apples.

More than expected:

Friendship is a tree during

Fruitful harvest-time.

For Frank J. Tassone’s haikai prompt about the harvest.
