Hi! Can this be a version of Vera Lynne’s sentimental and patriotic wartime “There’ll be bluebirds over/The white cliffs of Dover” ? Whether or not, I like the haiku. Nick

When I wrote it, I had Eric Johnson’s instrumental on my mind. I haven’t heard Vera Lynne’s version; guess I’ll need to remedy that sometime. 😉

Vera Lynn (no “e” – my mis-spelling – ). Known as The Forces’ Sweetheart in the 2ndW.W. I am told, she kept up the morale of servicemen and civilians alike with her mellifluous voice. I am sure you know that the White Cliffs were/are iconic: they face, and defy, the continent of Europe. How’s that for “Little England”!
        Best wishes, Nick
