I thought I saw Everett, thought he was the rain falling from a cloud

he did love the wilderness (last seen heading towards a remote part of Utah in 1932) hundreds of miles over mountains and across deserts in search of beauty, writing and sketching as he went…

mountain shadows
again the artist
forgets to eat

never did make any money – not that it would’ve meant much to him anyway

“I have left no strange
or delightful thing
undone I wanted to do” (E. Reuss)

who knows what became of him – some say murder, some drowning. something beautiful?

first raindrops
releasing the scent
of desert stone
