Whenever I think of Old Basho I think of his continuous effort to upgrade the Haiku in his time and his final concept of “lightness”. I think of the duality which underpins his writing that is sacred to spiritual theory of his circle and which is fundamental to production and reproduction in all spheres of life. I think of the great off spring of his initiative in today’s world and I thought of the root system of the banana plant.
