This week, we meet the seasonal crossroads. The Northern hemisphere celebrates the spring equinox, while the Southern honors the Autumn equinox. Likewise, we approach the midseason of Spring/Autumn, respectively, as reckoned by the traditional calendar.
Have you felt the change? Longer, warmer days–not that there have been many cold ones, especially in New York’s backyard! Some daffodils have bloomed. The Brooklyn Botanical Garden reports that a few cherry trees have begun to blossom.
Spring/Autumn is in the air. As the Equinox arrives late Thursday, March 19th, let it be our kigo this week!
