Raleigh, NC Afro-American poet Lenard Moore was given the honor this July.  I met Lenard back in the early 80’s at Japan House in Manhattan when we were both new on the haiku scene.  It was my pleasure to enjoy his performance at the Haiku North America conference in 2019 in Winston-Salem, NC where he recited poetry while accompanies by a local jazz ensemble. Congratulations Lenard and all the best! I am happy to share this honor!
