New Year’s Eve
a boy from the tropics
dreams of snowfall

last fireworks of the day thunderbolt

holiday lunch
we say ‘bon appetit’
over a whatsapp call

hot sparkler hissing in a puddle

so as not to steal
the show of fireworks
distant lightning

Diwali wind…
the bottle rockets choose
their own trajectory

how come the wind knows festival of lamps

Cafe Haiku wishes all its contributors, readers and subscribers a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

May the next year be better than the last.
