Jules’ “nd 3.8 Incalculable Risks 2p – Jules Pens Some Gems…”

#Haiku Happenings #2: Jules’ latest haibun for my current #Haikai Challenge!

Incalculable Risks

like a lake moonglade
the snow moon is mirrored on
winter creek water

Free, harsh, stone cold air horning in on the banks, taking vast chunks of soil out of the turns.
Through the glass of the window as I remain sitting in the light of moments before noon, attempting to concentrate, contemplate the smells of spring.

limited patience
melts like the remaining snow;
count on temper flares

How can I prepare or train for that which is unpredictable? All of life’s surprises! The frustrations of simply trying to hope for warmer waters to flow (correctly in plumbed hoses. – fragile plastic broke on a household appliance, into which even the ordered parts refuse to fit properly and have the handyman frustrated…)

the only constant –
passing calendar day squares;
twelve days until spring
