The Akita International Haiku Network welcomes submissions to its 10th annual HAIKU contest!

The organizers hope that this contest will serve as an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding among people from all over the world, and promote Japan’s traditional poetic form of HAIKU. We also hope that this contest will continue to draw attention to northern Japan’s Akita region and its luscious environment, traditions, and poet-community.

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to the public of any nationality in the world.
応募資格：　国籍、年齢は問いません。

ENTRY: Only one (1) haiku is allowed to be submitted per haiku poet. Haiku must be UNPUBLISHED.
投句数： 未発表句・１句

THEME: Mystery, Depth (Yūgen)
お題：「幽玄」（雑詠も可）

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE:
・Original, previously unpublished haiku should be submitted according to the entry form. Japanese or English haiku only, please.

・ Judges will be asked to give preference to HAIKU that are connected to the theme…
