Round The World

#Haiku Happenings #5: gdutta17’s latest #haibun!

gdutta17's avatarGoutam's Writings

For a long time, I used to believe that the sun went inside the earth during sunset and then walked the whole night before rising again at the horizon in the east. Then, in later years at school, I learnt that the earth is round. That set off a train load of questions inside my little head. How did the people on the other side of the world remain standing? Why doesn’t the water in the seas fall off? If the earth is round, why does it appear flat?

Child’s mind is dizzy
Questions abound inside the head..
This world of wonder.
