    I have saved the wood pile for below zero temps. Fallen Chestnut trees (by lightening and wind) have added to our store.
    Not our primary heat source – wood.
    Though there is a protected pile in the covered patio and even a few logs on the ledge of our fireplace.
    I’m not sure when the birds feast more, in cold or warmth… But I did fill the feeder again, this morning (as I had done just a day ago!).

      We’re set for the next time we need our fireplace. Probably the next blackout! 😆
