EMBRACE
deep golden sun sinks behind the strand of Douglas Fir. a sheen glades the grass sweeping before me towards the distinct red hill. all around is sky offering a warm embrace. my steps are measured. it is hard to walk when one’s heart weighs so heavy a weight
each footstep draws a tear earthwards. a prayer for my own healing. a call to the soul beyond all of this, the witness who can breathe and smile a knowing smile. i hear a voice, not mine, ‘help me’ and i know now i’m in trouble and must step so lightly, one step at a time
Beltane eve calls me
witness the ancient marriage /
sky holds the weather
via embrace
