#Haiku Happenings #3: Jules’ latest solo #renga / reverse #haibun for my current #haikai challenge!
Lighting the Way?
reflective haunted
face, burning with the suns glow
yet skin shows no scarhollow hearted pumpkin jack
mimic’s orange hunter’s moonbrewing emotions
swirl in whirlwinds like fall leaves
breathless dancers, resthallowed traditions played out
as children prepare costumeswill there be dawn frost
following the hunter’s moon
haunting northern climes?Who is to say that the Hunter is not our Grandmother? Bringing
us the gifts of the tides. Bringing great wisdom as the Shedding or
Falling Leaf Moon? It is hard to ignore the beauty of the Blood Moon. What messages will you ask of the spirits on this thinly veiled night
At this end of half year time named by some as Samhinn? Will you
eat some barmbrack containing hidden gifts? Why are there so many different explanations for those things which
we cannot scientifically explain? The customs of costumes and
feasting varies – some though choose turn off their porch lights and
skip the commercialized competition of candy coated consumption. When that full Hunter’s Moon graces the sky, who will be making
preparations for end of October partying? After that harvest has
been collected, parades of leaves and children flittering, fluttering
dressed in their finest store bought or hand crafted costumes. How ever you choose to celebrate the fullness of the moon’s cycle –
Just remember to look up with respect and enjoy the beauty of
our earth’s satellite. Traveling throughout the whole of that special
night when you will be able to hopefully see the majestic sight.©J/h
