On Saturdays, Frank Tassone introduces us to a new prompt. This week we are asked to write about cherry (blossoms) (sakura).

Tuesday is here, I am still in a frigid part of the world, anxiously waiting for sign of Spring, any minute detail that could inspire me to write about blossoms. There are no buds in the trees, neither flower shoots piercing the hardened soil.

In this outdoor field we are blessed with ice pellets accompanied by three centimeters of gracious snow that delicately honor our precious threshold.

Under the Cherry Blossoms

sensuous springtime
paramour abandons me
for season’s virgin

mournful cry of the Geisha
cherry blossom trees quiver
