Yesterday I saw a brown grasshopper that first looked like a moth in flight—a Carolina Grasshopper, I discovered afterward. In closeup photographs it is possible to detect the grasshopper body in flight…in real life it looks more like a moth or butterfly until it lands and the wings fold, revealing a plain grasshopper.
