  1. And we share theirs. The most photographs I have ever taken of a creature in the wild was a starving polar bear in the Canadian high arctic–222 shots from a 10th of a mile with a 400 mm lens. An outtake is the very last photograph in my poetry collection, Athabaskan Fractal: Poems of the Far North, last year from Cirque Press. I’m still aching from the encounter. Thank you for doing him, the iconic, honor.
