#Haiku Happenings #5: Jade Li’s latest haiku #sequence for my current #Haikai Challenge!
Fluffy blanket clouds
hug winter moon’s cold curves –
dogs dream near the fire.
Snow owl disappears
inside winter’s cold moon heart –
pink wings rise with sun.
Frost moon brightens dark-
shadowed twigs scraping windows –
I shiver inside.
Dead tinseled trees rest
at curbside, row after row,
under a cold moon.
Mice on ice skates twirl
in pairs on winter’s pond while
Owls shadow cold moon.
Frank J. Tassone is the host of Haikai Challenge. Frank says:
Here’s to a new year, then. Let us celebrate by writing the haikai poem of our choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that allude to either Cold Moon (fuyu no tsuki), New Year’s Eve (toshi no yo), or New Year’s Day (ganjitsu).
