#Haiku Happenings #3: Jade Li’s latest haiku #sequence for my current #Haikai Challenge!
Bones lie where they fell,
bullets long buried silence –
each Spring poppies bloom.
Too many widows
stooped today, wilting at graves —
mourning doves take flight.
Uniformed, each Spring
they march Main in Everytown
trying to forget.

Frank J. Tassone is the host of Haikai Challenge. Frank says:
This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to either Memorial Day or the rainbow (niji).
