***************
I stumbled through a busy June. Here we are, three weeks since the last #Haikai challenge. July is nearly upon us–the last traditional summer month. The solstice came and went, along with the Strawberry Supermoon. My central air runs continuously as heat and humidity build—even with intermittent showers!
Therefore, today is a good day for a Trifecta of summer kigo!
As with multiple challenges before, the choice of the following is up to you:
Challenge number: | Date | Kigo |
#195 | 6/12/21 | midsummer rain (samidare) |
#196 | 6/19/21 | summer moon (natsu no tsuki) / Strawberry Supermoon |
#197 | 6/26/21 | smoldering hot (moyuru) |
Write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that alludes to any one, combination, or all of the kigo listed…
