It’s the beginning of 2022 and usually when a new year begins, I Google myself to remind me where I’ve been. I was a young woman in my late 20’s when I first started writing haiku. To use a cliche, it seems like yesterday. In mid January I will have been around the sun 75 times and I’m still writing and hope I will do so until I take my last breath. Although I love Nature as much as I love my own life, it’s people and their antics that really grab my attention. From the time I was a toddler, I was fascinated by the way people’s body language did not jibe with what they were saying. That’s where senryu and kyoka came in. People and their “stuff.”
