My mother was an excellent gardener, and she had a beautiful small greenhouse. However, she could never keep her bonsai alive. I share this specific lack of green thumb.
Seeing the beautiful bonsai in the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego brought all this to mind.
