Patience

The frozen, dry earth slowly thaws and quickens in the gathering heat of spring. The pandemics that ravage the world slowly contract until the last cases become memory. The defeaning explosions of missle strikes and shell fire, the rumble of collapsing apartments and hospitals, the screams and cries of civilians: even these fall away to silence.

The heartbreak from the experience of life’s horrors, or even of life’s ordinary unhappiness, eventually passes. Heartbreak does not have the last word. A lost, empty tomb amidst a forgotten garden bears witness to that. Never mind the legion of evils committed by those disciples of those first witnessesโ€”the truth remains.

Love finds a way.
