#Throwdown Thursday: my latest #haibun #poetry is up at .@ImageCurve

O Distraction

Frankie left the Teen Titans Wiki open on my Internet Explorer. Of course, I read bios of Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire instead of my work. After that, I must see the episode where they come together for the first time. Then I canโ€™t miss 3-part fourth season finale, where Raven confronts her demon father Trigon for the fate of her friendsโ€”and the world.

I only complete two of four IEPs I intended to finish. Nevertheless, a twelve-year-old somewhere inside me smiles.

Frank, It is wonderful to see you at the bar tonight! This is a charming story wrapping up with that mask, symbolic of what we hide behind when we ‘grow up.’ IEPs? Waaa! Was working on one of those myself today ๐Ÿ™‚ Love your writing; appreciate your expertize in Haiku & etc.

Never tried a haiku. But the brevity in which all must be said is quite a challenge. And you did so well here … the closet and the mask.

Haibun gives one the space to breathe, and to expound when necessary. The haiku captures the epiphany of the present moment and grounds the prose-poem of the Haibun. Worth a try!

It amazes me sometimes looking at things with a perspective I used to have and I wonder where did that come from.

Indeed! Somehow, I still remember all of my imaginary friends, whom I knew were imaginary!

I love the imagination that I had as a kid… probably had a batman mask too… is it too late to find my playground?

Such fondness here in the unfolding. The twelve-year old inside and those teen titan rascals. Cheers.

I know this so well. I keep children’s books on my shelf – for my own reading. I never want to completely grow up. Not ever. No sir!

This is great! I love that your twelve year old self still resides within you. We should never completely lose that open, curious and excited side of ourselves. Glad to see that it’s alive and well, and your haiku ties it all up wonderfully.
