Summer sun
air conditioner straining
against the humid air
Cheer the gift of fresh cool air
be amazed that it still flows
Only the last scheduled New York State Regents exams to proctor. Only the last compliance work to complete. Only prom and graduation, faculty meeting and final party. Only the self-paced business of the remaining five days of the school year.
A taste of the vernal heat to come continues. An air conditioner specialist swapped out a faulty part yesterday, when the outside temperature approached 100 degrees farenheit. We sighed with relief as the central air resumed dehumidifying and cooling our almost-80 degree home.
Still, a vacation overseas to savor, and it arrives soon. Then will the joy of summer blossom in full fruition!
arid soil
sagging in a humid day
wilting flora
crabgrass and dandelions
prosper alone
