Thick reams of paper everywhere. The folders on my desk organizer bulge out with them. I can’t see the top of my desk. Jaime has no room for her piles. Even our circular conference table, tucked in the corner of the narrow office, has manila folders, crumpled worksheets, parental rights documents spread all over. Folders with final exams rest in a stainless steel basket under a chair.
Into this menagerie we bring our student’s parents for a state-protocol-mandated Annual Review.
