#Poetry challenge accepted: DVerse question poem

For the DVerse Poetry question poem challenge
Why?

Why are the thorns as much a part of the rose as the petals?

Why is the only authentic love the love of the “nail-scarred hand”?

Why does the truth crucify us to liberty?

Why does desire dog us like the furies?

Why ignore the way when the twisted paths we follow lead to our ruin?

Why does chocolate taste so much better than broccoli?

Why do we weary so close to our culmination?

Why, oh why, do we ask why ’till the end?

Autumn breeze

the last grasshoppers

still sing

I had to smile at the broccoli… love when you blend a smile in all the serious questions … and the haiku was wonderful

If you find the answer to that chocolate/broccoli thing, would you let me know? I enjoyed your poem, and appreciated the humor sandwiched in the real posers!

We do keep trying even to the end which I guess means we haven’t quite reached the end yet. Nice questions.
