A Complementary Conversation

I am the lost one. You venture across your own ways, while I stumble in the dark. How will I know where to walk if you leave me alone? You have always left me alone. Here I am, crying dry tears and screaming in silence. Where are you? Why do you abandon me?

I am the pathfinder. Your way begins under your feet, while your darkness is the mere shadow of harm you left behind long ago. Place your feet in my footsteps, for I haven’t left you alone. I trailblaze for you. Wipe away your dry tears; silence your silent scream. I am with you, even when I’m not in your sight. I do not abandon you. Why do you abandon yourself?

I enjoyed your Haibun very much,,”the lost one” and, the “pathfinder” who gives answer to, not only the lost one ,but to others as well.

You brought a new perspective to the self-portrait. This is very well done. There’s much thought given to the interpretation.

“Why do you abandon yourself?” That’s the crucial question, isn’t it?
    Love the haiku.
