Seasonal Transitions: a #TankaTuesday #tankaprose (9/25/18)

Autumn

the decline of energy

inspite of effort

these soon-to-color leaves

become ready to fall

Another season turns. Katydids lengthen their calls, then stop. Crickets continue, softer, more subdued. And yet soon an early Autumn chill yields to a remnant of summer heat.

Only for a moment that passes all too soon.

waning moon

seasons again transition

in their hemispheres

a harmonized passage

so often ignored

  1. Great poetry – Autumn, and the decline of energy, made me think about all the animals that are slowing down, getting ready for hibernation .My person particularly liked “seasons again transition in their hemispheres”, she said it made her think about, not just the different seasons across the hemispheres, but the fact that the transitions are mutual.
