These Daily Rituals: a #Tanka-prose (8/29/20)

A breath. Another. In. Out. When aware of any thought beyond breathing, a gentle return to the breath. In. Out. Until that period of centering draws to a close.

A daily routine, disrupted during summer and other days off. Or any morning in which I enjoy drinking coffee beside Mira, in our bed, upon awakening to another new day.

gathered clouds
the damp ground before
the next deluge
another line of haikai
another, then another
