Today, a break in the clouds that gathered for days. Today, a respite from the rain that’s fallen for the last two.
A robin lands on the walkway of a neighbor’s home, then scampers onto the small front yard. The last blossoms of the Cherry Tree next door have all fallen. Their last remains mingle with the grass. The leaves of another tree rustle, and its branches sway, in a sudden breeze. The dark asphalt of the street is a light gray in the brilliance of afternoon sun.
It’s a day to enjoy while it lasts. Forecasts call for the return of rain…
for the rest of the week.
