On to today’s. It’s Veteran’s day in the United States. It’s also my birthday. Late this morning, my son and I brave the below-30-degrees-Farenheight cold to attend our neighboring village’s Veterans commemoration. Now, I’m typing this challenge–a privilege I could not enjoy without the service and sacrifice of US military veterans.

Your challenge this week is to write a haikai poem–haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, renga, etc.–that includes, or refers to, this unique kigo–Veterans.

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:
1. Write your haikai poem (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, renga, etc.)
2. Ping-back to the Challenge by placing a link to it in your post.
3. Comment with a link to your post.

Good Writing!
