#Throwdown Thursday (1/11/18): my latest on .@ImageCurve.. #haibun #poetry

Gastronomic Insomnia

Full, from dinner.

Spicy beef and rice with black beans repeat. The last traces of tequila complete their work.

I keep drinking water. No matter how bloated I feel.

Or how sleepy.

windchime
rises, falls
crickets chirp

Oh my–the aftermath is scary. Take an antacid, hurry, raise the head of your bed and think twice. It sure looks good though. Great haiku to follow up on what happens when you indulge.

Indeed. Fear not for me. While I write in the present tense, the event in question happened some time ago. 😆

Thanks, Sanaa. Life can be lived in two ways:

      1. First the fast, then the feast.

      2. First the feast, then the hangover!

Guess it’s obvious which one I chose then! 😆

There must be a lot of salt or dehydration to need that water.

The last traces of Tequila might have helped eased the pain. Dos Equis in the pan (the only sane use for it!), and Tequila for the fire. Sugar afterwards. Learned that in Texas and Oklahoma.

    Worthy haiku!

Sounds delicious! Although the after-effects…not so much. Love the haiku at the end!
