How are those lawns looking, haijin? Congratulations to last week’s contributors

Ultreya!

Today is our 17th wedding anniversary. (Thank you, thank you; no, really, you shouldn’t have ;)) During our wedding, I remember seeing the sky shortly after sunset. It was a true sailor’s delight, and it still carries the allure of romance all these years later. What better summer kigo for our anniversary than afterglow (yuuyake)?

This week, write the haikai poem of your choice (haiku, senryu, haibun, tanka, haiga, renga, etc.) that states or alludes to afterglow (yuuyake).

As always:

Here’s how the challenge works:

1. write the haikai poem of your choice.
2. post the link of your post to Mister Linky.
3. pingback by posting the link to the challenge on your site.
4. read and comment on other contributors’ posts.

A post acknowledging past contributors will come!

Savor the love, haijin! 🙂

  2. How wonderful to be reminded of your Wedding day on your wedding anniversary!
May you have 17 more and 17 more… and even more after your 51st!

They’ll just speed by. We’ll be one year shy of four decades in a few months.

Post later… there’s been no glow today as it is still raining. Which is good. I think I’ve heard the grass slurp. 🙂
