“A Nice Game of Chess”: A #dversepoets #quadrille #haibun

black white and brown chess board game

White moves King’s pawn to E4. Black answers with Queen’s knight to F6.

I process combinations.  My opponent runs sub-routines.

A flurry of moves. Pawns fall, Bishops pin, Queens clash.

Until the puzzle is complete.

  1. Genius! I once enjoyed chess in real time with a real person but I could never solve the chess puzzles or play against a computer – too much of a puzzle! The haiku is perfect.
